Target and Warby Parker are teaming up to open five shop-in-shops this year, staffed by Warby Parker employees and offering eyewear, eye exams, and vision screenings. Saks Global is moving forward with its post-acquisition restructuring, implementing another round of layoffs following its $2.7 billion purchase of Neiman Marcus and closing Neiman Marcus’ Dallas flagship store on March 31. RetailDive, RD
Joann will close all its stores, pending court approval, after a bankruptcy auction won by GA Group and the retailer’s lenders. Going-out-of-business sales will begin, with the buyers offering cash to pay off Joann’s $615.7 million debt and a $105 million credit bid for most assets. RD
PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay will close its PopCorners plant in Liberty, New York, laying off all 287 workers by June 6. The company plans to support employees and work with local officials during the transition. FD
